Mumma Review

My little man and I were out running some errands recently and headed into Salt Cafe Restaurant on main road Moonah for a catch up with a friend and her gorgeous little boy.  My sister-in-law raves about Salt for their delicious food and nice atmosphere so I decided it would be a good place for some morning tea.

We arrived at around 9.30am on a weekday morning and the place was busy with eager patrons eating breakfast or grabbing take-away coffee.  The layout of the cafe was simple yet practical with seats seating 2-5 people situated around couches against the walls.  The staff were friendly and attentive, grabbing a highchair promptly for me for my little man (however it went unused as the boys propped themselves up quite happily at the table).

The brunch menu was certainly tempting - house-made toasted granola, french toast, pancakes with mixed berries, or baked beans & chorizo compote with poached egg were all calling my name!  But seeing as I was still full from left over hot cross buns for breakfast I opted for a latte and raspberry & white choc muffin instead.  The latte hit the spot and the muffin was very tasty - moist and full of raspberry and white choc goodness.  Meanwhile the boys tucked into their babycino's - a little more on the milk side than full-on froth but nonetheless they appeared enjoyable :)  All up my latte, muffin and babycino came to $7.50 - great value indeed!

Salt was a welcome surprise and I will definitely be heading back there with the family soon for brunch.  I have heard they also do a delicious risotto and their pizza's for lunch or dinner are meant to be really good.

Has anyone else been to Salt lately and can also recommend it?
