Mumma review

A trip to the north of the state saw hubby, bub, and myself taking the time honoured tradition of a pit stop in Campbell Town.  Red Bridge Cafe and Providore is an absolute gem for parents in need of good coffee to be able to kick back and use the free wi-fi while the kids have a play.

The building dates back to 1846 and originally housed a brewery.  The history of the building and ownership has been mapped out on a board inside the cafe.  It's a beautiful old building, and many original features remain.  At one point it was home to a small school, which has inspired todays kids play area with old school desks, blackboard and chalk, and plenty of other toys.

There is plenty of pram space inside the cafe, and a very inviting log fire is surrounded by cosy lounges.
While there is no specific kids menu there are some options suitable for kids (what kid doesn't love a ham and cheese toastie?).  You can also purchase food from the providore for littlies including fruit, yogurt, and even "organic bubs" baby food.

My own lunch consisted entirely of cakes, the apple slice and the "famous vanilla slice" both of which were delish!
The providore is definitely worth a browse to pick up some local produce and treats.  The selection is huge.  I certainly wasn't expecting such a treasure trove of goodies when I first walked in the door.

Red Bridge Cafe has my vote for the perfect place to stop for a break in Campbell Town with the kids.  And besides, I cant go past a free babycino!

  4. Thanks for the recommendation, stopped on the way home from the north of the state, found their selection of Tassie red wines exceptional, along with the delicious raspberry and almond tart! Much better than the crowded bakery we normally stop at, this cafe has plenty of room for the kids.
