Mumma Review
Decided to head to the recently restored Callington Flour Mill in Oatlands for a bit of a day trip with hubby and bub. Good distance (about an hour north of Hobart) for bub to have his morning sleep in the car while I caught up on the news reading the paper (hubby driving).
Arrived mid morning and enjoyed a latte (although the coffee did leave a slightly unpleasant after taste) after breastfeeding bub in the Visitor Centre Café – a sandstone cottage in a picturesque setting adjacent to the Callington Flour Mill.
Café section small, clean and warm. Limited seating indoors – 3-4 tables with chairs. Small outdoor courtyard. Cakes looked tempting but decided to wait as we were also planning on checking out the bakery across the road which uses all the artisan flour from the mill in its baking.
Older kids may enjoy doing a tour of the Historic Flour mill or reading the information regarding the Mill. Lake Dulverton was also close by which has a playground. Toilets were located at the rear of the building.
All in all this was a quaint setting with a beautiful old Mill. A nice spot to stop and have a wander.
