Mumma Review

Burgers...........yum!  After a huge day in the garden in our new abode Hubby and I were keen for a hearty burger each.  We headed down to Burger Got Soul in Sandy Bay at the respectable time of 5.30pm, our mouths watering as we were starving!  Thinking we would be the only ones dining at that time was a misconception....the place was relatively busy with other young families also dining out and people collecting their take-away orders.

Located on the main road in Sandy Bay Burger Got Soul has become a bit of a burger institution after opening here about 18 months ago from Launceston.  Their burgers speak for themselves and are pretty darn delicious :)  The menu comprises 22 different burgers with various chicken, beef, lamb, or veggie burgers available as well as a Soul Steak Sandwich and some specials.  I normally can't go past the Funky Chicken Burger but tonight I couldn't resist the Tassie Tempter....100% lean beef, tasty cheese, crispy trim bacon, free range egg, slices of beetroot, salad, relish and soul mayo (you can see I was hungry!!).  Hubby opted for the Shepherd's Delight Lamb Burger.  Both burgers were inhaled along with a bowl of thick cut chips (we did share that however....the chips were also very seasoned, just a bit too much for my liking though).

Mmmm the "Tassie Temper"
Thick cut chips
Our little man was propped up quite happily in the high chair provided whilst grooving to the tunes and eating his baked beans and toast from home (not quite old enough for a kids burger) however did get to taste test some of ours along the way.

Staff were friendly and service initially appeared efficient but it did take longer than I thought for our food......about 15 minutes to receive our bowl of chips and 25 minutes for our burger (hubby wasn't fazed but I was sooooo hungry it did feel like a long time to wait for a burger?!).  The layout is functional with tables seating 2-4 people, one long wall bench and some stools/bench at the front of cafe.  There is room to park the pram however this could get a little limited if the place was packed.

If you are looking for a tasty and relatively healthy take-away option or dine-in experience with kids then Burger Got Soul definitely is great place to head to.  And as the weather deteriorates there is nothing like a tasty burger to warm the soul!

PS.....would love to know your thoughts on burger waiting times?!  Is 25 minutes to long......(or has having a little one made me feel so time-poor that I am out of touch?!?)

  1. Have been there and waiting times were more excessive than I think is reasonable for a burger but I agree food is yummy.

    1. Yeh agree K...while tasty food it was longer than I expected for a burger?! Seemed like their take-away orders were taking precedence over dine-in? Few comments as well on our Facebook page...

Any other good burger recommendations for dinner? Al x
