Mumma Review:

Well yes, I admit I have had quite a few breakfasts, lunches, brunches and everything in between at The Beach Restaurant in Blackmans Bay.  It's a bit of a favourite on our southern end of the outlet, but we hadn't been there for dinner since bubba came along.

Last week I was feeling like a big ol tired, cranky, pregnant mumma and couldn't be bothered with the cooking and cleaning at dinner time.  Hubby, who had been busy at work and had a hard week, couldn't be bothered with those tedious dinner time chores either, so we decided to head down to The Beach, and let someone else do all the work for us!

Friends of ours often go there for dinner with their three kids aged 18months to 8 years, and they always have positive things to say about the place.  The kids are always well catered for with a kids menu (which also ticks the boxes for parents by featuring side-dishes of salad and veggies instead of just chips chips and more chips) and are kept amused with colouring books and activities.  By all reports their kids also love the place!

Based on their good reports we had been meaning to try it out for dinner, but hadn't quite got there, but tonight, we decided was the perfect night for it.  And besides, where else could a ravenous pregnant mumma get served dinner at the ridiculously early hour of 4.30pm!

The Beach didn't fail to tick all the boxes for us; a highchair for our toddler, colouring books and crayons, friendly service, and yummy food. The beach parma for me, and for hubby the pocketed chicken breast with wild mushrooms, ricotta, and baby spinach, wrapped in pancetta on a sweet corn fritter.  I had food envy.  Our little man happily shared our food on his own little plate in between busily colouring away.

Yes, that was exactly the sort of dinner I was hoping for tonight, so once again I have to recommend The Beach as a great family friendly spot for any meal.

  3. I was there last week for a family dinner, including my two young kids and baby niece. It was an improvement on previous visits and we were all surprised to find the inside tables fully booked (mostly families) on a Monday night. The Beach Parma was enormous. The kids played on the couches and no one seemed bothered by this. It was a good night.
