Budding artists corner

Mumma review

Last weekend hubby, bub and I were joined by family for dinner at Fish 349 to celebrate my birthday.  We dined at 6pm on a Saturday night and the place was bustling with lots of families, particularly in the front room which seems to be the dedicated family friendly section.  Bub was kept amused with the colouring in provided, but his efforts didn't quite make it onto the artists wall!

Orders are taken at the counter, and the meals came out quickly, which is handy for impatient toddlers.  Hubby and I ordered the hot seafood platter for two, which included spicy calamari, thai fish cakes, scallops, fish and coconut prawns.  It was a decent sized meal, and the spicy calamari and coconut prawns were especially enjoyable.  Normally we would feed bub his dinner before we go out, but as he loves seafood we thought he could eat with us tonight.  So by the time we attempted to eat ours while helping him through his dinner, most of ours went cold which really tends to take the enjoyment out of it!

Dessert consisted of the hugest piece of chocolate pudding I have ever set eyes on, and I barely made it half way through, it was so thick and heavy I kind of wished I had gone for some of the yummy looking gelati on offer instead.

Over-all there is a good selection of seafood dishes, my pick would definitely be the very tasty pistachio dukkah crusted blue eye which I had last time we were here.
The quick service, laid back and bustling atmosphere, along with the accommodating staff (particularly one waitress, who happily took cutlery from my toddler who kept wanting to "give lady" every time she walked past) make Fish 349 a great pick for family friendly dining.
